5 Things I Am Nervous to Write About and Why

Today’s daily post was “Make a list of 5 things you are afraid to write about”. I’m usually not afraid. I’m nervous more than anything because I never know how my writing on certain subjects will be received since most of us are familiar with the dreaded “Gap Hunters” or rather as they are better known “Trolls”. They don’t scare me so much as just flat-out give me a HEADACHE for various obvious reasons that if ANY of you are familiar with these individuals can understand. Without further adieu, let’s get into why we are here in the first place, my list and why:

1. Politics – I’ll admit, I’ve never been the most SAVVY gal on politics. Our whole government system gives me a headache and makes me dizzy thinking about how it functions and works. I really think we over-complicate things when we could easily simplify things if we truly wanted to. In general, I have trouble writing flat-out about anything relating to Government and Politics. Why? Because as much as I care about certain issues I don’t want to research them to DEATH just to prove I know what I’m talking about. Most of what I understand about the world around me and my government is from observation, some light reading perhaps, and personal introspection. I NEVER claim to “Know-it-all” or to be an absolute “expert” on what I’m talking about. However, when it comes to my feelings on certain issues, I definitely know where I stand and can voice my thoughts, feelings, and what I feel are required actions on them. Overall, I just like to K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) just about everything I do if I can, but I also like to be thorough which sometimes accounts for the long blog posts I might write.

2. Sexism – In any form is difficult to talk about BECAUSE there are people out there in the world that still have “Old Fashion Patriarchal” ways of thinking as in “A woman’s place is in the kitchen” and “Women are pieces of meat intended for me to drool over and F**k”. It’s that whole idea of “Sex Sells” and any of us Ladies who have half a brain will most likely get verbally back-handed by these people who don’t like when we actually speak-up or step-up and defend ourselves as NOT being these things, but of being of something far more substantial and valuable to society as a whole. I’m sure if our roles in society were reversed, with the men being looked at as the “Pieces of Meat” and our F**k-toys, that perhaps the feelings toward this subject would end in the same result. Though I’m sure there are some who might not mind this idea either. Point is, I want to be treated with respect (mind, body, role, contribution to society, etc) myself and if that’s at the cost of being insulted by being called a “Feminazi” by those who THINK I’m insulting their right to whack off to porn or otherwise, so be it.

3. Religion – No matter WHAT it is, talking about Religion can be a VERY tricky subject because sometimes we can feel like we are “walking on eggshells”. Main reason this one usually makes me “unnerved” is because I am SO SICK of hearing people say, “You should repent cause you’re going to Hell” and they do this, completely missing the point of whats been said JUST so they can make that point. I don’t care if you don’t agree with my view or not. That’s fine! You are entitled to your beliefs as I am to mine, just please stop with the “You’re going to hell” comments. Do you realize how rude that is considering Jeshua (or Jesus as most better know him as), far as my understanding of the New Testament went, was that he taught Unconditional Love, compassion, understanding, & tolerance for any and all. By the way, I don’t claim to be an expert on the Bible either but I know enough that I kept what I felt was good from it. That’s another detail, people getting into competition saying, “I know more than you on blah, blah, blah,” and “Oh yeah?! Prove it!” and then we have a proverbial Religions WANG sizing contest on our hands. *face-palm* Go do it somewhere else please! Thank you!

4. Personal Matters – I think this one goes without saying. Anything that can be considered rather Private or Personal to us can be a touchy subject and it’s never cool when people like “Trolls” i.e. “Gap Hunters” try to use it against us because they get kicks out of “bullying” others or try to “tear down” something we consider “special” or “valued” to us. Got news for them, they aren’t as invincible as they think they are. “You’re a sad strange little man,” I can try to fathom all the reasons in the world why they do it, but I don’t want to waste my time. I got better things to do and to think about. I just hope one day they can come to terms with “whatever” it is they keep trying to “run from” or are in “denial” about, grow-up, and find their “Personal Bliss” someday. There’s too much negative crap in this world – we don’t need more people adding to it, that’s my thoughts.

Unfortunately I can’t think of “5 things” that make me nervous to talk about, but I did pretty good with just coming up with the four and giving my reasons for them. I think that counts for something. Well now you all have a better insight into this “Writer”. I hope this has been entertaining if anything. Peace!

You did really well. You presented the subject, addressed you points, and supported them quite well. The insight you provided of yourself is right on the money – you wrote very concisely and communicated some points that I agreed with, and others from a different perspective that I may not have had the opportunity to understand had I not read the post. I am completely lost on the term ‘Gap Hunter’ as I have not heard it before. So you’re making me run in circles looking for a definition, lol. GREAT WRITE, had fun reading this one 🙂

An explanation for the “Gap Hunters” can be found in the right hand column where my “Check this out” section is and all that. If you scroll down to the bottom of that column there is “Favorite Blog Posts”. The link you want is titled by the article the term came from.

      Glad you enjoyed the article!
