I know what the title says and it’s true, this is my open letter to them – AND – to YOU. Yes you. That short and stout, the big and tall, the svelte and short, tall and svelte, the big breasted or too small to count (at least to those ignorant to think so) lad and lassie. I know your pains, for I have felt them too. I know friends and family who could even sympathize with you.
It sucks when you feel singled out in a world that caters to a supposed “Average”. You go to the store when it is time to find new shoes or clothes, but either something is too long, such as the sleeves or pant-legs even. Maybe it is the ‘bust’ on that beautiful blouse that’s in size “XS” but the bust you’d swear is “32C” instead of perhaps a “32A” like you feel it should be.
We cry, “It’s not fair! It’s not right!” because we shouldn’t be made to feel like we are anything ‘less’ for choosing to be who we are – or want to be. Whether that is aesthetics or personality. We also know people will say, “Well the world isn’t fair, don’t you know that!” and you know what? I think that’s a load of rubbish. I believe the world could be fair if it wanted to be, maybe even if perhaps we believed it to be. It’s just other negative people around us who keep perpetuating this negative notion that there is no “Fairness” in the world.
You have every right to feel angry and upset that you often feel singled out by the Fashion Industry and/or the Media. Even give them the “Ol’bird”. It’s really all their fault anyway. They find what they consider, “The Average” and make clothing to cater to it. Then it’s “One size fits most” and you know – you aren’t “most“. Your body is as unique as your personality, and you know that for a fact.
What’s also not fair, is for people who tend to run on the “Skinny” or “Svelte” side of things, they make our clothes based off run-way models whom many have been bullied into changing their figures or getting plastic surgery to fit the Fashion and Media’s idea of what “beautiful” is in the first place.
Maybe you were even told to “Go eat a sandwich“, even in a joking manner, only to find you thought it rather insulting because people really don’t know how much you’ve tried to gain weight but never have any luck. Or perhaps – you’re just built that way and happy with your size but find it very ignorant of them for saying such things without even asking you how you feel about your own weight – or why so skinny? in the first place. I’m sure many people out there have heard the phrase, “Nice Guys Finish last,” well I don’t believe nor do I subscribe to this belief. I never have and NEVER will. Life to me is what you make it. If you believe you are a Nice Guy and you put belief into such negative mantras, you only hurt yourself. I am confident I have a pretty excellent formula for success and happiness for “The Nice Guy Who Want to Finish First” and I want to share it with you all and if you try it out and you notice improvements in your lifestyle, let me know and if not, tell me what didn’t work. However, give it time. These things don’t just happen overnight. They take time. Also feel free to comment with your thoughts or add some advice of your own if you think it will help as well or you know that it will. More

Whether you believe it or not, all religions no matter what they are have some commonalities one way or another. Many cultures out there who have their own religion had little or NO contact (way back in the day) with some of these cultures who’s religions are now major in the world at large. One of these commonalities I see and feel that has been a persistent element is that of the “Mother God” and “Father God” themes. More

Nothing But the Best (album) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
In the last 10 to 20 years or so I have noticed something VERY important to me. With the utmost certainty I’m sure there are others who have noticed the same as I. Creatively Americans have gotten LESS creative. As a whole, it’s hard to say if that stands but when I look at what’s on T.V. and popular today, as compared to when I was growing up from the 90s – up, the quality of what we enjoy in music, television and movies has gone seriously DOWNHILL. I’m seeing a LOT more from Book to Move Adaptations. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE seeing those! I also love the comic ones they are doing (yay for the inner child in some of us being sated by these things). But all this does not make up for the talentless entertainment we have today. I look at countries like Korea and Japan and I’m finding FAR better entertainment there on nearly ALL levels (some of them even have some pretty NIFTY architecture that I wonder why in the world aren’t we taking notes and doing the same?!). My big question is, “Dude, WTF happened?!” I’d like to give some examples and EXPLAIN why they are NOT up to PAR in my book of standards. Granted, some of this is probably going to be stuff some of you like, so no offense, I’m just explaining why I don’t enjoy it. Keep in mind – I’ve tried to give some of this stuff a chance to prove to me it can be redeemed in some way. Hasn’t happened. If anything I feel like half the stuff that’s come out in at LEAST the last 10 years has been garbage! I’ve seen very little that I enjoyed. If I did see something I enjoyed – it’s been ruined or taken off the air or something else.

So first example I have of lack of creativity. Music. Music has definitely fallen way down in the gutter. Granted, there have been some decent artists that HAVE come out, but as a whole – this past generation hasn’t been THE most creatively Talented. A great example I saw was this De-motivational poster that my friends were circulating on Facebook. It was Frank Sinatra, one of the Greats in my book of music, vs. Justin Bieber, who I feel (much like Big Time Rush) is just “Eye Candy” for young girls to “Squee” their little selves over…which could be good and bad, depending. This was a response to the old chain letter many of you may have seen known as “Common Sense“. I don’t see “Common Courtesy” get used much any more and I recently (June 28th 2009, so not that recent people. Just re-posting from my dA gallery) had a VERY rare account with “Common Courtesy” not too long ago – someone offered to pay for my coffee when the store was unsure they could process my large bill. It got sorted out eventually – but this person had such a profound impact upon my being that I felt something like this was needed. This is dedicated to her, that stranger that decided to offer their kindness to me when I was in need.
Also to add I’m not entirely sure how well I did rewriting this (like I don’t know if the “Bureaucratic red tape” comment really works or not), but the important thing is I did my best to try to convey the message I wanted people to get from this. Enjoy! Pst! Pst! This is leading up to a different topic I will be writing about soon! *Humm Humm*
C.M.A.: I did write this and it can be found on my dA gallery at NyghtshaydeEN!
Obituary for Common Courtesy
Today we mourn the passing of yet another beloved old Friend, “Common Courtesy”, who had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old she was, since her birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. She is remembered as a great philosopher and teacher who helped us to cultivate such valuable lessons such as: More

As of late there are VERY few music artists that impress me anymore over here in America. I hate to come off harsh – but the only American artists I really like now – is Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. I miss the days when Queen was big to be honest. Freddy Mercury had stage Charisma up the Wazoo! His natural gift for music didn’t hurt either. When I’m cleaning I often listen to ‘Queen’ because Freddie’s voice makes the work seem less monotonous and fun! Freddie also makes me wonder – where has all the Charisma gone in our music industry? I hear a lot of ‘Rap’ these days on the radio and to be quite frank – I’m NOT a fan or impressed. There’s only certain ‘Rap’ I can tolerate or actually DO like and it’s few and far between (Cleopatra from like the early to mid-90s was a fave, like some of Cee Lo Green‘s stuff and so far I appreciated “The Way I Are” by Timbaland). I also get tired of going to a club and watching people dirty dance to said ‘Rap’. Now some might say, “So why bother going at all? Why ruin it for everyone else. Just stay home!“. Problem? I LOVE to dance! I like dancing with other people to – so long as they are enjoying themselves. I DON’T enjoy guys trying to cop a “Free-feel” just through a stupid “Dance” that lacks variety, soul, and creativity. I’m an Ecstatic Dancer and I mix a variety of moves in my style. So when I dance – there’s no room for that crap you call “Dirty Dancing“. If you want to know what real “good” dirty dancing is – watch the OLD Dirty Dancing not the new one. 😛
As for Lady Gaga? I don’t really think she has the Charisma – but I know she has the love, passion, and creativity. Perhaps I’ll hear the Charisma in her work in time. But there’s no doubt overall she seems a decent human being trying to send out a positive message to the youths of all countries and nations and I can appreciate that about her. Perhaps you have to be at one of her concerts to really FEEL her Charisma? I don’t know – I can sure hear and feel Freddie’s Charisma in the “Queen’s Greatest Hits 2”. Who can say for sure. I haven’t the chance yet to go to a Lady Gaga concert – but I hope to one day. Just don’t have the money. I’m sure every fan also says this – but I hope to meet her in person someday as well. I feel like she’s the sister I should have had growing up! We would have been thick as thieves I think. More

Fooled yah! No; I’m not done with the novel yet but what I AM done with is my hand-written manuscript. I got to the very last few pages today and have them all typed up. The last bits of it brought me to a word count of 1,557 yay! I honestly feel like the worst of it is over – but I understand I might feel that way again soon as I progress further into the story. My Bad Guy has a pretty interesting and unique name as opposed to *insert blank space here, no really I mean it* and the Council being called something completely ambiguous because I couldn’t think of something at the time. I also officially gave my Vampires the name that use for their kind. Yay!
So okay, I just realized I was right. This next part may be my next hardest. Why? Well as the Blackmore’s Night song goes, “Where are we going from here?” Oh goodie! Well I might very well introduce the Bad Guy and some of the other members of the Council so people get a good idea about who he is – what his personality is like, etc. It would give me a good opportunity to talk about one of my “Good Guy” character’s who is supposed to be spying on his butt. 😛
As a sort of “whoopee! We’ve made it this far” I’ve decided I’ve had a change of heart and that I might like to show an excerpt from my novel I am working on. It gives you an idea of the main Protagonists personality and it includes fun bad@$$ banter. 😀 Please keep in mind what you are reading is taken from the portion that is 2 yrs old so it’s definitely rough for sure. I will be putting this on my NaNoWriMo author page as well. 🙂 So you know the female is the “Good Guy” or main character of our story. Enjoy! More

Wheeee! So I’m up to 32k+ and typed 2,828 words today. :3 After a few distraction (the NaNo-Olympians FB group, my wordpress blog, creating the perfect playlist to write by, and scanning my typed manuscript for other plot-holes I missed) I finally was able to sit down and just WRITE! Despite the fact I do find myself having to go back and fill in some “gaps”, once I actually settle in and write – things are awesome! Admittedly they could be a lot faster but because I’m trying to make executive decisions WHILE glancing at my hand-written manuscript vs. what I’m typing I tend to get slowed down now and again. For those who aren’t aware I can type 60+ WPM. Friends and even some family have commented about how when I type it sounds like an Epileptic Woodpecker. Yes laugh! Go ahead! I know it’s funny – I laugh to. 😛
Despite the distraction with the playlist – I often find the right kind of music can bode well for the perfect creative writing atmosphere (at least for myself) – including sometimes – the right snacks and/or beverages. Also taking periodic breaks every hour for stretching is very good to staff off pesky tendonitis or other nasty things (such as poor circulation in your legs). This evening I had some Peppermint Tea, Sobe Pina Colada, a Marie Calender’s dinner and I’m staring at two pieces of Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark with Dark Chocolatesquares as my reward for a job well done! 2k+ may not seem like a lot but it most definitely is when you see the fruits of your labor.

So now this NaNo-nite is going to wind down for the evening with something relaxing (A bit of City of Heroes and checking the NaNo-Olympian’s FB group) and then hit the sack when Hypnos and Morpheus both decide it’s bedtime for me.

Topic #281 from The Daily Post.
Does technology help me write? That’s a pretty easy question for me to answer, granted in not so many words. Yes; it does. I use a computer largely for most of my writing, although at times I still do use the good old fashion “Pen & Paper” method as well. Not often though do I find myself putting pen to paper unless it is for my “Poetry” writing. Often the stories I write are written on the computer. Why? Because I type MUCH faster than I write! It’s kind of sad when I have all these ideas or words bursting to come out, but my hands can’t seem to keep up with my mind in the least. With a computer I at least stand a chance of keeping up. Granted I still make mistakes whether on paper or on the computer regardless, but it helps me keep my pace, stay in the zone and stay caught up with my mind. More
