The Most Vulgar Phrase You May Ever Hear…

WARNING! This topic may be offensive to certain parties. Its intent is not to be hurtful or even discriminate against said party(ies) but to provide a new level of ‘awareness’ to those who it DOES apply to. You have been adequately warned, proceed to read at your own risk. Thank you for your understanding.

The most vulgar and ugly phrase I have come across in the human language by far has to be, are you ready? “You’re going to hell!“. Yep. You read that right and that’s definitely what I typed, “You’re going to hell!”. You might be wondering how in the world this simple phrase can honestly and truly be so vulgar, but – think about it. How would you feel if someone said this very thing to you?
Especially if you considered yourself say, a ‘Good Christian‘. What if you were a non-Christian?

Non-Christian folk often have to put up with hearing this sort of thing all the time, especially if they’ve chosen a different path that they feel, honestly and truly connects them with the Divine in some way. In our world, there is not just one path to God, Yahweh, Gaia or whatever name you use to refer to the creator, there are many. Some are honestly more positive than others.

Now bear with me because I will be, most likely, pulling the Christians a few times in here, only because they are the best example. So if your Christian and don’t like being criticized, you were warned earlier but – this is where you may wish to get off. Just saying.

It’s no secret that I’m not a Christian – but I have Christian roots and so I try to be as respectful as I can toward the religion. The people on the other hand – they are hit or miss. It’s like what Gandhi said, “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians, they are so unlike your Christ,” and that has been my general feeling of most “All smiles” Christians I meet. More

Daily Prompt Response: Mentor Me

Have you ever had a mentor? What was the greatest lesson you learned from him or her?

Yes; I’ve had a Mentor. If I had to be honest with myself I’ve had two major mentors in my life who have profoundly affected my understanding of Magick and being a Pagan. However, I’ve also had other very important Mentors or Teachers come into my life since then. At least six I can think of I met down in Florida when I lived there for two years.

My very first true Mentor that I remember is the reason I finally got down on my knees and swore an oath, dedicating myself to my God and Goddess as I finally accepted the path I had always been born to, just had not yet figured things out on my own and fully come to terms with accepting the path I was meant for.

In a single day, my 1st Mentor shared with me as much as he could before we had to part ways. I have not seen him since that day and I have no idea if he knew what kind of impression he’d leave upon me, but I can’t help but wonder if he had not already seen the Priestess within me waiting to come out when we met. He had that all-knowing twinkle in his eye which told me he was privy to much more than meets the eye. More

Daily Prompt: Karma Chameleon

Reincarnation: do you believe in it?

I could answer this very simply by saying, Yes – I do. Which is absolutely true, but then you leave all the “whys” hanging in the air. The real question is, why not?

I believe everyone has a Soul, a shard of the great driving force at work in our Universe. A Soul’s principle follows along the same lines regarding the scientific laws of matter, it cannot be destroyed nor can be created. At least not by human hands that we’ve seen so far. If matter cannot be destroyed it must take on a new form or shape as needed.

When we die, we shed our physical vessels (bodies) and the Soul merely seeks to take on a new form. This form can re-manifest in this plane of existence or another as just about anything and everything depending on the agreements (Aye; some of us believe in this too. Whole other lengthy explanation there) we make prior to being incarnated on the plane we are looking to exist upon. More

Deities & Religious Theory – Fiction vs. Our Perceived Reality

This is a religious discussion/debate. If you’ve never been to my blog before KNOW that I write about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that comes to my mind and nothing is OFF limits. This includes RELIGION. Please be polite, respectful and understanding when engaging others or myself as I will do the same. You MAY or MAY NOT like what is said, you may NOT agree with it, but at least hear/read me out and try to see my point (and others) from an objective view. I am NOT trying to DIRECTLY attack you or YOUR Religion. It’s nothing personal! Thank you.

Hello dear readers and welcome back to my blog (those who are return visitors) and welcome to those who are just finding their way here! New and Old visitors are very much-loved and appreciated all the same. Again I will be discussing a controversial topic dealing with Religion. For those Science Nerds-Geeks out there, I will be touching base possibly on “String Theory” also known as “Parallel Universes” or “Multiple Dimensions” for those less savvy.

On a Skype Call this evening with my man, we were discussing my Book I finished (Working Title; Charlie Bravo, for those who don’t know) and I was discussing the Deities within the book that are made mention of. I was also speaking on Religious Theory. The way the theory works is this: More

Lord and Savior – Wait, I’m Lost…

I know many Christians, from my personal experience growing up with a 7th Day Adventist Father; Friends who are Catholic; people I’ve met – have told me things, said things to me about accepting Jeshua (Jesus Christ) as my Lord and Savior, as God, essentially. Sometime, back in last year when I originally wrote up the outline for this topic, I came to a sudden realization.

Note: Jeshua is how I am going to be referring to “Jesus Christ” for the duration of my post. Thank you.

Now one would wonder how or why I didn’t come to it sooner, but I came to it in my own time and place and that’s what’s important. Since I am someone who has studied an array of Celtic, Greco-Roman and other types of Legend and Lore out there – I realized, “Oh my goodness! Jeshua actually would be a Demigodby all accounts! Not GOD but a Demigod because he is the “Son” of God!

Now if you know anything about Lore yourself, whether you are Christian or no, that might make complete sense to you. There might also be people still shaking their heads at me and my comment though and that’s okay too. I do understand to a fair extent about why. More

Are You or Are You Not? That is the Question – Priest/ess

A true musing of my mind for you today folks. If you get “scared” grab a Plushie to hold, squeeze and cuddle (or a pet). If you get confused, which may or may not happen because I’m going to try my best to be pretty clear and not jump around too much, please ask me to clarify my meaning in comments. Thank you.
This is dedicated to all the Priests, Priestesses and others of that nature of all paths, orders, traditions, faiths or whatever and wherever you may be.

As primarily a Solitary Priestess on her path it has not always been easy, as I am sure it has been much the same for others like myself. People don’t often understand the trials, struggles and tribulations we experiences. The hardships and ridicule we endure. We’ve done nothing wrong except be ourselves and pursue a path that “fits”, “makes sense”, a part of who we are we cannot fight that brings us great joy and happiness in following that path. Conversely, there is also much sadness, sorrow, worries, doubts and fears too.

In modern society most people expect that anything you can/could do in the world can be proven with a single piece of paper that supposedly “claims” you’ve done some kind of official study with someone, somewhere to achieve this new level of understanding or learning. This too goes the same for Priests and Priestesses. I can’t tell you how many times, because honestly I don’t remember, I’ve told someone, “I’m self-studied” or “I’m self-taught/trained” and immediately they’ve ceased all contact with me or they’ve completely mocked, berated, belittled and ridiculed me.

It hurts, it sucks but there isn’t much you can do about it, except have faith in yourself and that you are following the right path for YOU.

Too many people, as I hear, get discouraged by these sorts of things, but again – it’s like what I’ve heard many a good Christian say, “It’s a test of your Faith. A test of your Dedication. A test of your Endurance, perseverance and personal strength.” I actually and honestly believe that, to a fair degree. See, when you follow a path that is considered, “Reconstructionist” to me, in a way, anything goes or your Path, can be whatever it needs to be or wants to be so long as it runs in the same vein of what your initially trying to pursue as your actual path. St. Nicholas – Myth, Man, Lie or Truth?

Nederlands: Sinterklaas tijdens het Het Feest ...

Nederlands: Sinterklaas tijdens het Het Feest van Sinterklaas (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

So I know this might be after Yule, Christmas and everything else we were celebrating last month, but I didn’t want to wait until next year to do this and I didn’t have the strength or conviction to write this topic during my trip to Vancouver. I saw Home Alone on yesterday so I know it’s not too late yet – because people are still kind of coasting on the afterglow of the holidays. Whether that is good or bad is up for debate.

Many parents I know are faced with many rather difficult challenges when raising their kids. From helping them differentiate between “Right and Wrong” to “You can’t Like Boys/Girls Yet!“. One of these challenges comes in the form of a rather innocent, yet well-intentioned, slightly manipulative, white lie. Santa Clause. Some kid’s parents tell their kids, “He’s not real” to “He is real, you just have to believe!“. What is fact? What is fiction? What have we embellished over the years about this rather kindly, jovial and jolly man who grants us Faith, teaching us about charity, humility, compassion, helps us to believe in the Magick of Christmas and more.

For those of you who don’t know. St. Nickolas was a real man. He was born in the third century in a village called Patara. He was a devout Christian as his parents raised him to be (as is often the case of those times and even a persistent theme of today). His parents unfortunately died when he was young and obeying, what he felt to be the will and words of Jeshua (Jesus), sold all that he owned and used what he had to help the needy, sick and the poor. He dedicated his life to God and was eventually made a Bishop of Myra while he was still a young man. “Bishop Nicholas became known throughout the land for his generosity to those in need, his love for children, and his concern for sailors and ships.” (Excerpt from “Who is St. Nicholas” on St. Nicholas Center) More

Pagan – Just Pagan

Very essential Heathen altar.

Back home now, safe and sound. The trip back to the states went much more smoothly than crossing the border, believe me. lol So here’s my 1st official post since I’m back in the States. I hope you enjoy! Sorry if the formatting is a little messed up too. Can’t help that.

Oh! One more thing, I know it’s a small stretch but the Title is based on a Movie reference. If you get the reference, major Geek and Brownie-points for you! I didn’t want to add too much because than it would have been an obvious and rather “famous” quotation. If you do know what it is, be sure to say so in the comments. 🙂 And it doesn’t count if someone “Posts” the answer to what it is and you say, “Oh! I get it now! Duh!”. 😛

More often than not, when someone asks me what my religious orientation is or something related to it I state firmly and very plainly, “Pagan”. To me Pagan implies the modernized definition (check What Pagan Means to Me to find the definition) and that I worship multiple deities or forms of Spirit, I might have appreciation or reverence for nature (though I know not all Pagan groups do, but most do) and maybe more. That’s the general gist it implies though. More

When Do Tools Become Moot?

magia/magic (Photo credit: ****the dreamer****)

I asked my “Man-Friend” the other day if he had any ideas for me about a topic he’d like to see me cover that I possibly haven’t already. And he gave me an excellent idea for a topic to discuss (among other ideas for things to keep me writing *facepalm, head shake, smile*).  For those who are of the “Magickally Inclined” nature, you’ll probably enjoy this. For those who are curious about Magick and its practice, you might find this interesting. And for those who don’t care for Magick nor its use and think it’s  a joke – I’m sure there is something else more entertaining out there to read than my blog.

Without further adieu, let’s get on with the show. By the way, for future reference – my readers are “Open” to making topic suggestions. You just need to leave a comment on the latest topic you’ve read and I’ll let you know if I can do it or not. I’d really like to see my readers get more proactive with me and ask me about this stuff or make suggestions, please!

So the topic for suggestion was, “When do Tools in Magick become cumbersome or impractical”? From personal experience as a Magickal Practitioner for a good decade or so, Tools to me become impractical when you can visualize clearly what it is you want done, focus your intention and you realize you have everything you need for your spellwork inside of you. That or you feel tools are slowing you down or holding you back from your truest potential. More

Daily Prompt Response to “Faith”

Halo Solar

Halo Solar (Photo credit: Alexandre Janini)

What is the Role Faith plays in your life – or doesn’t.
I know Faith plays a very big role in my life. For as long as I’ve been consciously aware of the world around me Faith has been a big defining factor in it. Faith to me is like the “Magick” I practice. It is a very important and integral “brick” in the foundation of my character. If I may quote something from one of my favorite comics Dawn – Lucifer’s Halo – “Trust is like a form of Faith, right? A Faith is a form of trust. But without it what do you have? A broken heart? A broken sword? And things just have the power that you give them.

Faith is power and power is Faith that is part of what this quote is talking about, if you take that away – what do you have left? “Banality is stronger than Belief – yet Faith is stronger still“. That’s another important thread  in the fabric of my being. Because without Faith, belief, Trust or Hope – what are we? What do we have left to believe in? If we don’t trust ourselves or have Faith in ourselves, much less something greater than ourselves. I’m not trying to infer anything about anyone else or their beliefs, simply this is how my mind works and how I work. More
